PSYCHOTHERAPY

ADHD Treatment

for Children, Teens, and Adults

Serving Texas and Oklahoma

Practical, thoughtful support helps individuals with ADHD achieve greater focus, steadier routines, and a more peaceful daily life.

I provide specialized ADHD therapy and evaluations for children, teens, and adults across Texas and Oklahoma through secure online sessions. My clients are often bright, capable, and full of potential—yet frustrated by overwhelm, inconsistency, or difficulty getting started on what matters most.

ADHD does not mean a lack of ability. More often, it reflects a nervous system that needs the right structure, pacing, and environment to thrive.

Who I Work With

I work with:

  • Children with ADHD and their parents
  • Tweens and teens struggling academically or socially
  • College students and young adults building independence
  • Adults navigating career, parenting, and overwhelm
  • Couples where ADHD affects communication

Many of my clients describe themselves as creative, driven, and energetic—yet easily pulled off course. Some feel tired of “almost” reaching their goals. Others feel stuck in cycles of procrastination, screen overuse, or emotional reactivity.

My practice is intentionally specialized. I’m a good fit for clients who are ready for practical change and receptive to structured support.

ADHD Treatment

Common ADHD Struggles Across the Lifespan

ADHD looks different at different ages, but certain themes repeat.

Tweens and Teens

Adolescence can intensify ADHD challenges.

Common concerns include:

  • Academic frustration
  • Chronic procrastination
  • Screen overuse
  • Impulsive online behavior
  • Social immaturity (often 2–3 years behind peers)
  • Anxiety around performance

Middle and high school years can feel like a constant state of overwhelm. Therapy focuses on executive functioning, emotional regulation, and realistic academic systems.

For many teens, shorter, focused sessions help maintain engagement and momentum.

Children

Parents often report:

  • Emotional reactivity
  • Difficulty waking and starting the day
  • Sensory sensitivities (food, noise, textures)
  • Resistance to demands
  • Lagging self-management skills

Children may struggle socially or appear developmentally behind peers in emotional maturity.

Parent training is a core component of ADHD therapy for young children. When parents understand how the ADHD brain works, daily conflict often decreases significantly.

Young Adults

After high school, many young adults gain confidence—yet still struggle with:

  • Initiating non-preferred tasks
  • Managing money
  • Establishing consistent routines
  • Anxiety about productivity
  • Substance use to regulate mood or energy

This stage often requires refinement rather than remediation. We focus on building sustainable systems that support independence without burnout.

Adults

Adults with ADHD often know what works . . . but they may struggle to maintain it.

Common themes include:

  • Chronic overwhelm
  • Boredom with routines
  • Pressure to succeed in multiple roles (career, parenting, home)
  • Difficulty shifting between tasks
  • Inconsistent productivity
  • Impulsivity around screens, food, shopping, and other self-soothing behaviors
  • Emotional reactivity

Many adults describe wanting peace—the ability to direct their lives without feeling constantly behind.

ADHD therapy helps align strengths (creativity, hyperfocus, adaptability) with practical systems that reduce friction.

How ADHD Impacts Daily Life

ADHD often affects:

  • Productivity at work or school
  • Completing non-novel or repetitive tasks
  • Family relationships
  • Time management
  • Leaving the house prepared and on time
  • Financial organization

Differing paces within families can create tension. Misunderstandings about effort versus ability often erode self-esteem.

With education and strategic adjustments, many individuals with ADHD thrive, especially when environments are structured to match how their brain works.

Emotional Patterns in ADHD

Anxiety frequently accompanies ADHD.

Other common experiences include:

  • Fear about the future
  • Shame rooted in school or family messaging
  • Social comparison (especially among women)
  • Chronic overwhelm during transitional periods
  • Overwhelm often feels like a rolling snowball that’s gaining speed and size

Part of our work is identifying how to interrupt that snowball early and reduce cognitive load before it becomes unmanageable.

My Approach to ADHD Therapy

Structured. Practical. Systems-Oriented.

I am a family therapist first. That means I consider not only the individual, but also the systems around them: family, school, workplace, and environment.

I frequently use:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Family Therapy
  • Emotion Focused Therapy (For Couples)
  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (for Trauma When Indicated)
  • Somatic and narrative approaches

I avoid heavy worksheet-based interventions. Most individuals with ADHD do not benefit from added homework. Instead, we focus on small, repeatable “life adjustments” made up by simple routines paired with existing habits.

I am particularly skilled at identifying practical “life cheats”: realistic environmental or behavioral adjustments that reduce friction and increase follow-through.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is an improved quality of life.

How It Works

ADHD Evaluations in Texas and Oklahoma

I provide ADHD evaluations for children, teens, and adults residing in Texas and Oklahoma.

Evaluations may assess:

  • Attention and Impulsivity Patterns
  • Executive Functioning
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Academic or Workplace Impact
  • Overlapping Concerns Such as Anxiety

A professional assessment provides clarity and direction for next steps in treatment, school planning, or personal growth.

All ADHD therapy sessions are conducted securely online.

Online sessions allow flexibility and comfort. Children may move around, draw, or introduce pets during sessions. Teens and adults often appreciate attending from home without adding travel stress.

Results You Can Expect
