Denison is a North Texas town located roughly a mile from the Oklahoma border. Regarded for its lake life, outdoor activities, and friendly neighbors, it’s attractive to families, commuters, and professionals. Lake Texoma, one of the biggest reservoirs in the US, attracts millions of visitors each year.

The modalities I use include:
Denison is a North Texas town lingering near the Oklahoma border. It’s a nostalgic nook near Lake Texoma: one of the nation’s largest reservoirs. This water-bound playground covers nearly 140 square miles and reaches depths of up to 100 feet, all while creating shorelines that stretch 580 miles . . . that’s roughly the length of the United Kingdom!
Due to its watery ways, lake life highly influences this Lone Star location, with outdoor activities attracting boaters, jet skiers, fishing enthusiasts, and campers. Tourism is also an important city staple: Lake Texoma draws millions of visitors each year and serves as the go-to location for weekenders throughout the region trying to escape the searing summer heat.
With a mix of picturesque prairies, whispering woodlands, and subtle slopes, the town offers a unique blend of Texas beauty: wistful, sun-drenched, and wide-open spaces merge effortlessly with golden sunsets and soulful serenity. A strong sense of community defines the region, with local pride, friendliness, and traditional tenets valued by longtime residents, generational families, and newcomers alike. A burgeoning arts presence, marked by murals, galleries, and a live music scene, offers a creative vibe while nearby Eisenhower State Park (named after President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was born here) makes space for hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing (you can find everything from armadillos, wild turkeys, pelicans, and coyotes to deer, turtles, and lizards). With affordable housing, small-town charm, and access to a wide range of activities, this town tops the list of one of the best places to live in North Texas.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a common neurodevelopmental condition with a varied presentation where different people exhibit different symptoms. Some of those affected may experience challenges with concentration, focus, and forgetfulness, while others may experience hyperactivity or impulsivity. Although ADHD is often thought of as a childhood diagnosis, it’s become increasingly recognized in adults.
Selective Mutism is a disorder that primarily affects children. Characterized by the inability to speak in certain situations (such as social contexts, when called upon in class, or in unfamiliar environments), it is driven by anxiety, fear, or discomfort. It’s a condition that is often misunderstood . . . with those impacted labeled as defiant or rebellious.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-impacting condition that influences a person’s ability to communicate, understand social cues, and interact with others. True to its name, it exists on a spectrum, with some people experiencing minor challenges and others experiencing more severe difficulties. Those impacted often exhibit repetitive behaviors, varied processing patterns, interpersonal challenges, and sensory struggles.
Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health challenges in Denison and throughout Texas. Depending on the specific condition, disorders can manifest as phobias, perpetual and unwarranted worries, obsessive thinking, rituals, or fear related to certain contexts (such as social interaction). The anxiety experienced may range from bothersome but manageable to life-altering.
Trauma is a physiological, emotional, or psychological reaction to an overwhelming, distressing, or painful event or series of events. Trauma can involve physical experiences, such as a natural disaster, an attack, or an injury; it can also be brought about by sudden grief and loss or less obvious distress, such as workplace or school bullying, relationship instability, or financial worries. Those affected by trauma may experience hypervigilance, anxiety, numbness, detachment, avoidance issues, or problems with focus, sleep, and everyday responsibilities.
Mood disorders encompass a broad range of symptoms, including hopelessness, malaise, and depression or, on the opposite end, mania and euphoria. Among the most common mood disorders are Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, conditions that can drastically impact everyday functioning, relationships, career or school, interests and hobbies, and overall life enjoyment.
I have nearly two decades of professional experience and a passion for making a difference in those who feel unseen, those who are misunderstood, and those who see the world through their own distinct lens.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent people, complex issues, and the many layers that make us human. With a blend of evidence-based modalities in my toolbox, system theory, connection, and camaraderie, I offer real-world, personalized solutions that lead to measurable, sustainable change. In me, you will find a strong advocate, actively partnering with medical providers, families, and schools to ensure you receive the support you need across the board.
