Plano is a diverse, academically accomplished, and driven community with a strong corporate presence. With several Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, a focus on financial independence, and plenty of opportunities, it appeals to professionals and families. It’s also home to an extensive parks system: one of the most impressive in the Southern US. For residents seeking help with mental health challenges, online therapy is available from the convenience of home.

Plano Therapy

If you’re a Plano resident dealing with anxiety, a lack of focus, hours of tossing and turning each night, racing thoughts, or the echoes of the past, you’re not alone. For many of us, life comes packaged with plenty of challenges; from everyday stress to overwhelming emotions, the struggle is real and unforgiving. But it’s not inescapable; I’m here to help you find a way forward and come back home to yourself.

Combining a unique blend of compassion, imagination, insight, and curiosity, I design a treatment plan tailored to your needs, wants, and underlying strengths. We’ll celebrate your quirks, tap into your talents, and set goals that are both transformative and achievable. I work with people throughout the lifespan, from children to adults, as well as families with focuses on ADHD, selective mutism, autism, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders.

Here, you’re welcomed into a place of experimentation, exploration, and discovery. By trying new tools, gaining new insights, and getting to the root of the problem, we’ll find solutions, practical coping skills, and different perspectives that offer long-term, meaningful change.

I use several evidence-based modalities, including:

A Place Filled with Mid-Sized Magic and Corporate Opportunities

Plano is a mid-sized city of roughly 290,000 people. Although among the largest cities in the Lone Star State, it’s much smaller than the Texas titans of Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Its intentional layout, marked by wide roads, ornate landscape, distinct business districts, and precise residential areas, often makes the city feel bigger than it is.

City residents come from a variety of backgrounds, but they tend to be highly educated professionals who are focused on climbing the corporate ladder, achieving financial success, and providing their families with opportunities. Diverse cultures, particularly significant Indian, Korean, and Vietnamese presences, merge to shape food, shopping, and entertainment options while creating a vibrant tapestry of everyday adventure, nightlife, and creative arts.

The city is also an economic powerhouse, with several Fortune 500 companies headquartered or prominent here (including Toyota, Keurig, Dr. Pepper, and JCPenney). But it’s not all work and no play: with more than 4,000 acres of open space, Plano has one of the most impressive park systems in the Southern US. Residents often flock to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, two signature areas known for hiking, biking, kayaking, scenic overlooks, and wildlife sightings.

ADHD-Focused Care

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a common neurodevelopmental condition with a varied presentation where different people exhibit different symptoms. Some of those affected may experience challenges with concentration, focus, and forgetfulness, while others may experience hyperactivity or impulsivity. Although ADHD is often thought of as a childhood diagnosis, it’s become increasingly recognized in adults.

Selective Mutism-Focused Care

Selective Mutism is a disorder that primarily affects children. Characterized by the inability to speak in certain situations (such as social contexts, when called upon in class, or in unfamiliar environments), it is driven by anxiety, fear, or discomfort. It’s a condition that is often misunderstood . . . with those impacted labeled as defiant or rebellious.

Autism-Focused Care

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-impacting condition that influences a person’s ability to communicate, understand social cues, and interact with others. True to its name, it exists on a spectrum, with some people experiencing minor challenges and others experiencing more severe difficulties. Those impacted often exhibit repetitive behaviors, varied processing patterns, interpersonal challenges, and sensory struggles.

Anxiety-Focused Care

Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health challenges in Plano and throughout Texas. Depending on the specific condition, disorders can manifest as phobias, perpetual and unwarranted worries, obsessive thinking, rituals, or fear related to certain contexts (such as social interaction). The anxiety experienced may range from bothersome but manageable to life-altering.

Trauma-Focused Care

Trauma is a physiological, emotional, or psychological reaction to an overwhelming, distressing, or painful event or series of events. Trauma can involve physical experiences, such as a natural disaster, an attack, or an injury; it can also be brought about by sudden grief and loss or less obvious distress, such as workplace or school bullying, relationship instability, or financial worries. Those affected by trauma may experience hypervigilance, anxiety, numbness, detachment, avoidance issues, or problems with focus, sleep, and everyday responsibilities.

Mood Disorders-Focused

Mood disorders encompass a broad range of symptoms, including hopelessness, malaise, and depression or, on the opposite end, mania and euphoria. Among the most common mood disorders are Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, conditions that can drastically impact everyday functioning, relationships, career or school, interests and hobbies, and overall life enjoyment.

Compassionate, Curious, and Creative Care

For 20 years, I’ve dedicated myself to helping those who feel misunderstood, those on the outside looking in, and those ready to go below the surface to invite transformation. I work with complex people in Plano and the surrounding areas who are looking for clarity, those discovering who they are, and those with neurodiverse or anxious minds. As a systems therapist, I embrace compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care to help people make positive, lasting changes in their relationships, environments, and themselves.

I work through a highly collaborative lens, working directly with schools, parents, guardians, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and more. I advocate for my clients, teach them to advocate for themselves, and use practical solutions mixed with imaginative, innovative options. From layered humans and insight seekers to neurodiverse or anxious folks, I’m dedicated to walking toward the path of real change.

If you’re ready to connect, I’d love to chat. Book a consultation, and let’s begin.
